I received an Email from a lady that said she worked for Cross Roads Hospice Center and had a patient in a nursing home who, when asked, if he only had one day to live what would he like to do and said he wanted to hear a country music band and watch some people dancing to the music. He said he was from OK and used to go to a country music show a lot just to listen to the music and watch the dancers. I told her we would be glad to do it at no charge. We set the time and place and I told some of our fans about it and said they could meet us there and we would put on the show while they danced. It all turned out well and you could tell that the audience loved it. After the show I thanked everyone for coming out on their Sat. afternoon and the listeners for being so kind. While we were packing up our gear, a lady in a wheel chair with an oxygen tank on the side said I just wanted to tell you how very much I appreciate your coming, I’ve been here a long time and haven’t got to go anywhere and when I heard your music I thought I had died and gone to heaven…..that was all the pay I needed. Thanks goes to Marvin Bredemeyer, Gordon Riley, Chuck Yates (filling in for Mary and Garry Bichelmeyer who had a family dinner to go to) and all the dancers…
